Mechanical Project Engineer

Ihre Aufgaben

For Pre-project & Project Kick Off meetings

  • Analyze the Preliminary Definition Report and/or the Executive Summary
  • Create project mechanical Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) by defining the Mechanical engineering deliverables depending on the project phase:
    • Check and approve the list of Main and Secondary equipment
    • Propose list of mechanical deliverables to develop for the project (Equipment specifications and mechanicals drawings)
  • Estimate or confirm to Engineering Project Manager the duration of the engineering tasks related to Mechanical Engineering deliverables
  • Identify risks related to Mechanical Engineering tasks

 

During Pre-project:

  • For Main equipment, prepare the specifications, analyze and align the offers from Request for Quotation (RFQ), prepare the table comparison (technical and prices) and make recommendation for supplier selection
  • Predesign the Secondary equipment
  • Prepare Flow sheet and Process Instrumentation Diagram (PID) according Main equipment final information (Stage 1)
  • With Project Manager create the RFQ and make the selection of the external engineering supplier
  • Execute or Supervise General Layout Stage 1 and Master plan
  • Supervise the execution of the Building guide dwgs (Foundations and Steel Structure)​

During Project:

  • For Secondary equipment, prepare the specifications, analyze and align the offers from RFQ, prepare the table comparison (technical and prices) and make recommendation for supplier selection
  • Prepare Flow sheet and PID according secondary equipment final information (Stage 2)
  • Execute or Supervise General Layout Stage 2 and Master plan
  • Supervise, challenge and control the execution of the Building design (Foundations and Steel structure)
  • Administer Procurement by checking External engineering companies' against % completion invoices
  • Support Project Manager and Site Supervisor during construction, equipment installation and plant commissioning
  • Collect lessons learned
  • Supervise or execute “As-built" documentation

 

In General:

  • Apply workflows and procedures
  • Plan SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) by collecting requirement in compliance with local rules
  • Perform necessary quality controls on executed engineering deliverables
  • Issue Change Request to the Engineering Project Manager
  • Participate actively in project weekly meeting
  • Plan communication with, control performance and cost of the outsourced Engineering companies, equipment suppliers and contractors
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Tests for main equipment when requested
  • Support on the development of the Mechanical engineering database (Standard, guide lines…)


Ihr Profil

  • Bachelor of Sciences Mechanical Engineering degree and 3 years' experience in the mineral processing industry.
  • Good knowledge on 3D software (Inventor and IronCAD)
  • Good English (Spoken, written)
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Omya Core Values (internal training)
  • Knowledge of Engineering Management System (EMS)​
