Surveillance Assurance & Development (SAD) is responsible for the continuous enhancement of surveillance capabilities supporting SIX Exchange Regulation's mission to detect market abuse and rule violations, including insider trading, market and price manipulation. SAD acts as the bridge between market surveillance, business stakeholders and IT, driving the evolution of surveillance systems, analytical models and technologies while ensuring their effectiveness and quality
As an Analytics & Technology Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and improving surveillance methodologies, alert logic and analytical solutions. You will work closely with Markets Supervision & Investigations (MSI) and IT to assess new opportunities, evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and identify innovative approaches to strengthen market surveillance
The role combines advanced analytics, statistics, surveillance expertise and technology. You will contribute to the design and evolution of surveillance scenarios, assess the impact of new requirements, and leverage advanced analytics, statistical methods, artificial intelligence and data science techniques to enhance surveillance effectiveness. At the same time, you will help ensure continuity of key surveillance solutions while supporting the ongoing transformation towards a cloud-based technology landscape
Ensure continuity of selected surveillance solutions, data assets and technical processes currently maintained by the departing Data Engineer, while supporting the gradual transition of some responsibilities to IT
Analyse, review and enhance market surveillance alerts, detection methodologies, scenarios, parameters and thresholds, applying advanced analytics, statistical methods and AI/ML techniques to improve surveillance effectiveness
Assess the impact of new features, business requirements and regulatory changes on surveillance processes and systems, and identify required enhancements
Evaluate new surveillance approaches, anomaly detection techniques and emerging technologies, contributing to the evolution of market surveillance capabilities
Translate surveillance and business requirements into technical specifications and implementation concepts, and collaborate closely with business and IT teams throughout design, testing and implementation
What You Bring
University degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with statistical analysis, anomaly detection and model evaluation, combined with the ability to assess and improve analytical models, alert calibration and detection methodologies
Strong SQL and Python skills and experience analysing large datasets, ideally using modern analytics platforms such as Azure, Databricks, Spark/PySpark. Knowledge of AI-assisted analytics tools and techniques is considered an advantage
Experience in financial markets, market surveillance or transaction reporting is considered a strong asset
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and IT functions
Fluent in English (both verbal & writing), German is a plus
