Ancillary System Engineer
Help the transformation to greener shipping. Provide the interface specifications between the propulsion engine and the ship systems with the focus of greener technologies. Design and layout the ancillary systems which are required to operate the engine with new technologies, and support updating of existing solutions
Develop system solutions for optimised ancillary systems which are required to operate the propulsion engine
Create Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) based on the developed system solutions
Create Concept Documents, Functional Descriptions, Interface Specification (between systems) to guide the shipyards and other involved parties in designing the project specific ancillary system
Create Supplier Approval Specifications for certified components
Provide technical support to customers (engine builders, shipyards, etc.) regarding engine installation and ancillary system layout
Review and comment installation/ancillary system drawings provided by engine builders, shipyards, and design institutes
Assist WinGD departments in all fields concerning the engine-ship interface
Provide technical input for the project guide (Marine Installation Manual, MIM)
Provide training to internal and external customers
Requirements: Education, experience, and skills:
B.Sc. or similar in marine, mechanical, process engineering or similar
Understanding of system engineering including capability to create P&IDs
Good problem solving abilities
Fluent in English (spoken and written, minimum B2 level)
Team player and communicative
Knowledge in CAD, process engineering, or drawing software is of advantage, but no prerequisite
