      Main duties and responsibilities

      • The programme coordinator will work as the central organisation and communication hub of DOMINO, ensuring effective internal coordination among 19 consortium members at 5 different Swiss research institutions while maintaining strong operational links with and international partner institutions (e.g. , , ), polar operators, and the Swiss Polar Institute. Tasks of the programme coordinator include
      • aligning scientific and logistic plans, field and reporting schedules, and shared resources
      • facilitating communication and decision-making within the consortium
      • ensuring that field activities are carried out efficiently and safely
      • coordinating the logistics of Antarctic field seasons (26/27, 27/28, 28/29, 29/30)
      • compilation of reporting documents during three periods; support with writing
      • organisation of the bi-annual Consortium meetings

      Profile

      • We are looking for a highly organised, creative, committed and reliable person with an interest and basic knowledge in polar science. Demonstrated experience with (scientific) project management, logistics, coordination of complex, multi-partner research and/or field programmes are required. Proven ability to manage planning processes, budgets, schedules, and reporting across multiple institutions is essential, as is excellent communication and organisational skills. The role requires a proactive problem-solver who can manage competing priorities under time pressure, and support both scientific and operational stakeholders in carrying out demanding field campaigns. Working language is English, occasional correspondence may also be in German and French

      • Workplace is Lausanne or Sion, Switzerland. The Project Coordinator position is a 50% FTE with a salary commensurate to EPFL staff employment regulations and can be extended for up to 5 years (annual contracts). Parttime home-office is possible upon agreement. For applicants holding a PhD degree, combination with an additional programme-related 50% Postdoc position may be possible depending on the acquisition of supplementary funding. The earliest starting date is 1 April 2026 or later upon agreement
