      Avionics Engineer

      About the role

As a Junior Avionics Engineer, you will provide hands-on support in developing advanced avionics platforms. You will work within a dynamic team of eight, bridging the gap between hardware design and embedded software integration.

      Work tasks

      • Hardware Design & PCB Layout: Develop and design flight computer hardware and printed circuit board (PCB) layouts using Altium or KiCad, including the preparation of manufacturing files.
      • Automated Test Scripts: Write and execute test software and scripts in Python, C/C++, or Bash to validate avionics devices on Linux test benches.
      • Commissioning & Lab Troubleshooting: Perform systematic troubleshooting, diagnostics, and functional testing on electronic assemblies in the lab using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
      • Embedded Software Integration: Install, configure, and flash embedded C/C++ software onto the developed hardware components and microcontrollers.
      • Flight Operations Support: Provide hands-on assistance with flight testing preparation, system setup, and telemetry monitoring in the field.

      We are looking for

      • Experience: Hands-on hardware development experience (avionics, automotive, or robotics) within a professional corporate environment.
      • PCB Design: Solid proficiency in board layout using Altium or KiCad, along with hardware troubleshooting experience.
      • Testing & Linux: Experience writing scripts (Python, C/C++, or Bash) for automated hardware validation within a Linux environment.
      • Lab & Interfaces: Comfortable using laboratory equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, JTAG) and a solid understanding of serial protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C).
      • Languages & Mindset: Fluent in English; a proactive, structured, and completely independent way of working.

      Nice-to-Have Requirements

      • Embedded C/C++: Practical knowledge of programming microcontrollers (e.g., STM32).
      • Flight Operations: Initial exposure to flight testing, setup, or telemetry monitoring.
      • German: Good command of German is a plus.
