We’re looking for a skilled and motivated BESS Project Engineer to join our growing team. This specialized role focuses on the technical design, due diligence, and system optimization of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You’ll ensure that each project meets the highest technical, operational, permitting, and commercial standards, contributing directly to the success of our portfolio through rigorous analysis, smart design choices, and close collaboration with the broader team. Your main responsibilities

• Develop technical designs for BESS projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and grid requirements
• Assess design packages and identify technical risks and opportunities during investment and M&A phases
• Support the Technical Lead with analysis, recommendations, and engagement with suppliers and contractors
• Monitor market trends and evaluate new technologies for future project optimization
• Act as a key liaison between technical, commercial, and operations teams

Your profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in renewable energy system design, with at least 2 years focused on BESS projects
• Strong knowledge of BESS design, industry standards (IEC 62933, UL 9540), and relevant software tools (AutoCAD, MATLAB, PSS/E, HOMER)
• Ability to assess risks and evaluate system performance
• Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
• Proficient in English, German or French as a plus
