About the Role

• As an intern in our Intra‑Group Retrocession (IGR) & External Retrocession team, you'll gain invaluable hands-on experience in financial accounting and reporting within a leading global reinsurance company. You'll collaborate with professionals across Finance, IT, and Risk Management departments while developing practical skills that will set a strong foundation for your future career
• Apply advanced data analysis and artificial intelligence techniques to support IGR processes and manage external retrocession activities
• Maintain and evolve code scripts (e.g., Python) to meet department targets, ensuring robustness, scalability, and alignment with evolving analytical and operational requirements
• Validating and analyzing produced figures and serving as main point of contact for inquiries on the financial results of internal and external retrocession
• Contribute to the seamless quarterly production of financial statements for IGR and external retrocession
• Supporting various initiatives and projects related to the financial reporting landscape

Global Finance Operations & Transformation (GFO&T) is responsible for delivering accurate, consistent and high‑quality financial information for Swiss Re's external reporting and internal decision‑making. This includes Group IFRS reporting, statutory financial statements for all legal entities, as well as SST and Solvency II. Within GFO&T, the IGR & External Retrocession team plays a central role in the accounting and reporting of intra‑group and external retrocession transactions, with a strong focus on IFRS 17. We also drive the transformation of Global Finance towards a simpler, more efficient and forward‑looking organization. About You

• We are looking for a proactive person with excellent problem-solving abilities and quick comprehension. The ideal candidate is adaptable, demonstrates good work ethics, can work independently, and is a true team player. Inherent motivation and a passion for continuous improvement are essential
• Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a bachelor's or master's degree in data analysis, economics, finance or a related quantitative field
• Strong data‑analytics knowledge, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and derive actionable insights to support business and operational objectives
• Interest in quarterly closing processes and financial reporting
• Willingness to acquire necessary system (SAP, FPSL, LFD) and technical knowledge
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Fluent in English, both written and oral, a must
• Solid coding knowledge and the ability to maintain, debug, and enhance complex codebases (e.g., Python)
• Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
• Basic understanding of IFRS 17 and how it works in practice
