The Swiss Library Service Platform (SLSP) – headquartered in Zurich – is a service provider for libraries and collaborates with them tu run the national library platform swisscovery that gathers scientific information from 500 libraries in Switzerland and makes it easily accessible and simple to find.
At SLSP, you benefit from flexible working hours, at least five weeks of vacation per year, a centrally located workplace near Zurich main station, a co-working space in Lausanne, and the option to work from home office (remote work).
For the strategic further development of our communications function, we are looking for an experienced, capable and confident Head of Communications, starting immediately or by arrangement.
In this key role, you will be responsible for all internal and external SLSP communications and will further develop its strategic positioning. As a member of the executive team, you will work directly with manage-ment and be closely networked with managers, specialist departments and project managers. You will play an active role in shaping the communication of a nationally established service organisation and effectively bring issues relating to libraries, academia, technology and innovation to the attention of the specialist community and the general public.
You will act as a sparring partner to advise senior management and executives on strategic and operational communication issues and help to develop storylines, key messages and public appearances.
German or French is your first language, and you’re able to express yourself with confidence and in a style that’s appropriate to the target audience (a second national language at least B2 level); you also have very good English skills (at least C1 level); Italian skills are an advantage.
You work independently, in a structured and strategic manner, have good organisational and prioritisation skills, manage topics and projects effectively and laterally, advise colleagues professionally and make sound, responsible decisions. You are empathetic, a team player, think in a networked way and have good diplomatic skills.
