As a worldwide leader, the Swiss Gemmological Institute SSEF offers the international jewellery trade its specialised services to analyse gemstones and pearls. We are in daily contact with our international clients and provide our analytical services at our main laboratory in Basel (Switzerland), but also in our facility in Bangkok or at gem shows in Hong Kong and the USA. In parallel to our testing services, SSEF also offers gemmology courses at basic, advanced and scientific levels, on coloured stones, diamonds, pearls and jewellery history. To strengthen our position and reinforce our Eudcation Department, we are currently looking for a Head of Education.
Head of Education
In this role you will lead the strategic development and delivery of our course offerings. Your primary focus is to revamp and refine existing programs, ensure a high-quality student journey, and expand our portfolio through bespoke training and global online courses. You will also represent SSEF at trade shows, conferences, and professional events to showcase course offerings and gemmological expertis. You will collaborate with the marketing and communications teams to promote and create engaging educational content for social media, highlighting the skills and knowledge our courses, products and services provide.
Your profile: You hold diplomas in Gemmology (FGA, DGA, DUG in gemmology or comparable) You have a proven track record in academic leadership or education management in gemmology. You have experience in developing gemmology courses and designing bespoke and online courses for diverse audiences in the gem and jewellery trade. You also have strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills as well as an existing network in the gem and jewellery industry. You are a native English speaker with excellent communication and presentation abilities.You are willing to travel internationally to deliver talks and bespoke courses at trade shows and for a diverse array of clients.
