The Head of Ready to Operate will be responsible for developing and training the Operations and Maintenance organization to safely and sustainably run the future CO2 value chain in combination with the existing cement facilities. S(He) will develop structures for the future Operations and Maintenance organization, ensure SOPs and procedures are in place, ensure tools and training are defined and provided for operating and maintaining the facilities. (S)He ensures operations management and maintenance management systems are in place and uploaded with the required data. (S)He will also integrate the Plant of the Future requirements and define the minimum requirements for the CO2 value chain.
The role will lead a transformation in Operations and Maintenance thinking as the cement operations with a CO2 value chain will impose different trade-offs to maximize revenue than currently prevail in cement production.
As part of the readiness for operations:
(S)He will also set up the commissioning structure and teams.
(S)He will support the CCUS teams to integrate this strategy in the country’s CCUS project.
(S)He will be responsible for the cost effective implementation
(S)He will be the design authority for Operation and Maintenance for CCUS projects
(S)He will be contributing to the evaluation and promotion plant of the future application and use of digital tools
(S)He will be involved in developing contracts for Operation and Maintenance support for the new Assets, and setting performance criteria for vendors
(S)He will ensure that pre-start-up safety reviews (PSSR), are conducted with HAZID, HAZOP, SIL audits closed out, and critical safety interlocks are end-to-end tested prior to energization.
(S)He validates the Certification for the Start-up of Operations (RFSU) and provisional acceptance tests.
(S)He ensures reporting structures and systems are in place to demonstrate compliance with environmental permitting requirements
Main responsibilities
Defining the future Operations and Maintenance requirements across the entire CO2 value chain in addition to the cement plant operation
Manage and structure the preparation of future Operations requirements
Manage and structure the preparation of future Maintenance requirements
Design future Operations and Maintenance organizations both corporately and in country
Develop the ready to operate organization in CCUS-CAPEX
Develop the minimum design requirements/criteria for CCUS projects from an Operations and Maintenance perspective
Coach the country Operations and Maintenance team to be ready to operate the new facilities and CO2 value chain sustainably with a high uptime and minimum cost
Set up structures to realize flawless commissioning and start-up of the new facilities
Define structure for continuous improvement (key KPI’s) to capture lessons learned and best practices
Develop training programs for the project Operations and Maintenance staff including Operator Training Simulator.
Develop the Holcim CCUS academy
Profile required
1 - Specific work experience:
At least 5-10 years of Operations and Maintenance experience ideally in gas plants, Cement plant experience is an added advantage
Experience in an Operating and Maintenance Management role (i.e. Plant Manager)
2 - Technical / functional skills:
Good understanding of KPI’s and impact on EBITA
Deep knowledge of Operations and Maintenance requirements
Deep understanding of gas processing facilities, Process safety, pressurized equipment, cryogenic equipment, and rotating equipment, and industrial maintenance strategies
3 - Behavioural competencies:

Education / Qualification
BSc. MSc. in a technical discipline
Ideally 15 year experience in a plant / industrial environment
Language Requirements
Fluency in English (oral and written)
