year transformation program across our European Commercial Insurance markets
The Business Change & Engineering team drives business transformation through the standardization, simplification and automation of business processes in our Business Units and Corporate Functions. As a Product Engineer you work closely with Underwriting, Pricing, IT and the wider program team to turn strategy into scalable solutions
Product Development and Enhancement
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and maintain new insurance products, utilising logical mapping tools such as Xmind to model products with underwriting
Gather and assess feedback from customers and stakeholders—such as Underwriting, Sales, and Claims—to identify customer and product requirements as well as opportunities for improvement
Facilitate change management during the introduction of new products to the business, with consideration for intelligent product design and opportunities for simplification
Collaborate within the product and pricing team to prioritise, plan, and execute initiatives, evaluate usability, and ensure readiness for business implementation
Develop structured product models tailored to flow business within the Lower Middle Market customer segment
Configure products using Xmind and Advanced Product Designer, with Guidewire selected as the supporting technology suite
Conduct comprehensive analyses of competitors’ products and pricing strategies to inform market positioning. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and product lines, particularly relevant to the seven identified markets
What Makes You a Great Fit?

Required
Bachelors Degree and 2 or more years of experience in the Product Development area
OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and strong experience in the Product Development area
AND Knowledge of property, casualty, and specialty insurance underwriting
Familiarity with the underwriting function, including guidelines, practices, and standard controls or governance
Possess 3–5 years of experience within Product Development
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of sales and distribution channels, including agents, brokers, facilities, MGAs, and affinity partners
Exhibit working knowledge of insurance software packages, particularly Guidewire, as well as familiarity with Xmind and Guidewire’s Advanced Product Designer Suite (APD)
Ability to cultivate and maintain collaborative professional relationships
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven project management and time management abilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Demonstrated expertise in change management
