Junior Underwriter Financial Lines to Zurich Sweden

We are now looking for a Junior Underwriter to join our Financial Lines team in Sweden. This is a role for someone who is curious, motivated to learn, and eager to grow in an international and business-driven environment
You may already have some experience from insurance, law, finance, economics, or a related field. Most importantly, you have a strong interest in risk, client relationships, and developing a career in underwriting
About the role
As a Junior Underwriter within Financial Lines, you will be part of an experienced and highly engaged underwriting team, working with products such as directors’ and officers’ liability insurance, professional indemnity, and crime insurance
In this role, you will gradually develop your underwriting skills and learn how to assess and evaluate risk, prepare quotes and policy terms, support and manage insurance policies, analyse customer needs and tailor solutions, and build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, customers, and internal stakeholders
You will work closely with senior colleagues and have continuous guidance and support as you grow into taking more responsibility for your own portfolio over time
Supporting the underwriting process for new business and renewals
Analysing information and documentation to support risk assessment and underwriting decisions
Preparing quotations and policy-related material in a timely and structured way
Collaborating with colleagues, brokers, and customers to deliver a high level of service
Contributing to customer acquisition, retention, and profitable portfolio development
Developing your understanding of Zurich’s Financial Lines offering and the broader commercial insurance market

Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, law, business, finance, insurance, or another relevant field
Previous professional experience from insurance, financial services, legal services, risk, claims, broking, or another relevant field (experience from Financial Lines is a plus)
An interest in commercial insurance, risk analysis, and customer relationships
Willingness to learn and develop within Financial Lines underwriting
Solid verbal and written communication skills in English and Swedish equivalent to C2 level,
Collaborative team player who enjoys working with others and contributing to shared goals
Ability to interpret financial statements and other key underwriting information
Proactive, solution-oriented and commercially minded
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and good negotiation ability
Service-minded and focused on delivering a positive customer and broker experience, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
Confident presentation and communication skills, both internally and externally
Good analytical skills and attention to detail
You are a collaborative team player with strong analytical skills. You demonstrate a business and customer focus, with a keen interest in building customer relationships and managing negotiations.
