Legal Counsel - Technology and Data Privacy

Your contribution to KPMG

• Conduct due diligence during technology onboarding and ensure ongoing compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Perform Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) to ensure alignment with data protection laws and company policies.
• Provide legal guidance on technology-related risk management, including intellectual property and export controls.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with technology vendors and partners to protect organizational interests.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and the KPMG Alliance Team to meet international standards and manage technology-focused collaborations.
• Develop and implement contracting guidelines that reflect emerging regulations and support the Firm's Technology Strategy.
• Contribute to the AI Risk Framework in line with the KPMG Global Trusted AI roadmap.
• Partner with the DPO and other key leaders to strengthen data privacy and information protection across technology solutions.

• Higher education or additional certification in data privacy, law, cybersecurity or related fields
• Commitment to continuous learning in digital risk and data protection regulations
• Proactive mindset with a drive for process improvement and tech-enabled solutions
• Analytical, critical thinker with an objective and independent approach
• Client-focused, precise, and adaptable in dynamic and complex environments
• Fluency in English and German (C1/C2), with strong communication and diplomatic skills
• Background in tech contracting and SaaS, with legal or compliance experience and interest in AI/ML regulations is a plus
