Network Engineer (Network Automation Focus)

• Working from home up to 40% possible
• You are a Network Engineer with strong experience in automation, API integration, and technologies such as JSON and JavaScript. With solid expertise in network infrastructure, including routing, switching, and BGP, you help ensure that SIX’s global network operations run efficiently through automation
• You combine software engineering skills with an interest in infrastructure and security, translating requirements into reliable solutions. You communicate confidently in English, and German skills are beneficial, especially when working with customers, internal teams, and external partners
• You will join a dynamic team of around 18 engineers responsible for engineering and operations, contribute to national and international projects, and actively shape SIX’s network automation. Occasional on call duty is part of the role (home office possible)

What You Will Do

• engineer, operate, and continuously optimize SIX’s global network infrastructure, including routing, switching, and BGP
• design, implement, and document network and automation concepts, including APIs, JSON workflows, and integration solutions
• drive network automation initiatives and contribute to technical leadership and international project work
• further develop the network infrastructure and provide occasional on call support

What You Bring

• experience in network automation, including APIs, JSON workflows, and integration with automation platforms
• strong expertise with Cisco technologies (routing, switching, ACI) and solid knowledge across Layer 2 & Layer 3, load balancing, DNS, and DHCP
• long-standing hands on experience in engineering and operating complex network infrastructures
• high level of personal responsibility, independence, and reliability in delivering technical solutions
