      The EPFL Hydraulic Machinery Platform (PTMH ) is a centre of scientific excellence in research and development of hydraulic machines, specializing in performance validation, hydrodynamics and cavitation leveraging advanced measurement techniques and state-of-the-art experimental infrastructure

      • We are seeking an Operational Director who, under the guidance of the academic leadership, will lead and oversee the operations of PTMH’s experimental infrastructure. Holding responsibility for the operational management of service contracts, the Operational Director leads an engineering team of 8 staff members, ensures operational excellence and customer satisfaction, and implements strategic direction and service innovation by aligning work practices with institutional priorities
      • Line management of the engineering team
      • Operational management of testing platforms and resources in alignment with the academic strategy
      • Oversight of platform finances: budget monitoring, payment verification, resource follow-up and financial reporting
      • Invoicing and financial follow-up
      • Review of service contracts and interface with EPFL Legal Department and Technology Transfer Office
      • Coordination of building needs and infrastructure requests

      Profile

      • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
      • An MBA (Master of Business Administration) is considered an asset
      • At least 10-year experience in hydraulic machinery model testing
      • Experience in operational and team management
      • Solid organizational skills
      • Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously
      • Fluency in French and English
