      Marmelo is a restaurant and bar inspired by the coastal cuisine of Portugal and Spain with a focus on fresh and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant celebrates a unique culinary style with a focus on Iberian coastal dining embracing the seafaring and fishing traditions of Port Melbourne. Wood and charcoal cooking methods impart incredible flavours bringing authenticity to the cooking process

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Lead or support a designated pastry section, with responsibilities aligned to your level of experience and expertise
      • Prepare, produce, and present exceptional pastries, desserts, and baked goods that consistently meet quality and presentation standards
      • Collaborate closely with the broader culinary team to deliver seamless service and an outstanding guest experience
      • Uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and workplace organisation within a professional kitchen environment
      • Contribute to effective inventory management, stock control, and waste minimisation initiatives
      • Support continuous improvement through creativity, innovation, and a commitment to culinary excellence

      What we’re looking for:

      • Previous experience in a pastry, bakery, or professional kitchen environment, commensurate with the level of the role
      • A genuine passion for pastry arts, with a strong focus on quality, precision, and attention to detail
      • Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
      • A collaborative and positive approach, coupled with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn and grow
      • Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen best practices
      • A commitment to delivering exceptional products that enhance the overall guest dining experience
