Responsibilities
As part of a small dynamic team of experts, you will define engine retrofit solutions and implement them on vessels world-wide. Your extensive experience in the field will be critical for this role and highly valued within the global organization. In particular, you satisfy the role by mastering the following responsibilities
Investigate, numerically and experimentally, technology options for optimizing. performances of 2-stroke engines retrofits with focus on scavenging, combustion and turbocharging processes
Develop tuning campaigns for retrofitted engines and conduct them on the vessel
Support customers with inquiries in the field of engine performances
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practices in marine engine retrofitting
Define and maintain engine and system performance data based on simulations and testing results
Generate detailed performance reports
Requirements
M.Sc. or higher education in Mechanical Engineering or similar (Ing. ETH or HTL / FH or equivalent) with Chemical/Combustion/Thermodynamic background
More than 5 years of relevant experience desirable
General knowledge in thermodynamics of internal combustion engines
Additional knowledge on scavenging, combustion (gas and liquid fuels) and turbocharging processes
Experience with engine simulation tools like GT Power
Background on engine tuning
Open for working on vessels and traveling (mainly Asia) several weeks - months per year
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and take initiative
Strong communication skills (ability to communicate effectively with both internal & external customers) and team player
Good command of English language (written & oral)
