      • EPFL, one of Europe’s leading science and technology institutions, is seeking a Philanthropy Manager to establish and drive a new strategic fundraising function supporting the ambitious development of the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC)
      • ENAC is EPFL’s faculty at the forefront of sustainability in the natural and built environment, integrating research, education, and innovation. It advances knowledge and delivers solutions to pressing environmental and societal challenges through its interdisciplinary approach. The faculty comprises more than 70 research units, over 600 researchers, and more than 2,000 students
      • This role offers a unique opportunity to establish and shape a strategic philanthropy function within one of Europe’s top-ranked technical universities. Working at the interface of academia and external engagement, you will play a key role in unlocking philanthropic support for research and education
      • As the first role philanthropy focused role within ENAC, this position requires an experienced, confident, and proactive professional who can drive momentum, prioritise opportunities, and build strong internal and external relationships and work in close coordination with EPFL's central Philanthropy team to support the faculty's strategic priorities
      • You will play a central role in translating ENAC’s academic ambitions into philanthropic opportunities and meaningful partnerships and tangible impact, while helping define how philanthropy can best support the faculty’s long-term priorities in alignment with EPFL's broader philanthropic strategy
      • Design and implement tailored fundraising strategies for priority initiatives and emerging opportunities
      • Identify, cultivate, and steward high-potential donors, foundations, and corporate partners in close coordination with the EPFL Philanthropy Office
      • Develop compelling cases for support and high-quality engagement materials
      • Work closely with professors, academic leaders, and project teams to identify initiatives with strong philanthropic potential
      • Support internal processes for contracts in line with EPFL guidelines in coordination with relevant central services
      • Support the Dean and senior leadership in strategic stakeholder engagement
      • Ensure excellent stewardship, reporting, and donor follow-up and keep accurate records in line with institutional standards and practices
      • Act as a trusted liaison with the EPFL Philanthropy Office to ensure alignment with institutional priorities policies, and fundraising best practices

      Profile

      • You bring maturity, initiative, and strong relationship intelligence, combined with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to operate with autonomy in a developing function
      • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification; continuing education in philanthropy is a plus
      • Significant relevant experience experience in fundraising, partnerships, business development, or senior relationship management
      • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex academic topics into compelling opportunities
      • Strong presence and credibility with senior-level stakeholders
      • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across teams and functions in an international environment
      • Fluent in French and English; additional languages are an asset
      • Highly organised, proactive, and results-oriented
      • Comfortable operating in an evolving environment and shaping direction where structures are still emerging
