      • EPFL, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, is one of the most dynamic university campuses in Europe and ranks among the top 20 universities worldwide.       • The , housed at EPFL, is an academic-industry alliance of international relevance that facilitates innovation in digital trust services and products. The center brings together 15 industry partners, 43 EPFL laboratories, civil society, and policy actors to collaborate, share insights, and gain early access to trust-building technologies, building on state-of-the-art research at EPFL and beyond
      • C4DT focuses on three domains. First, facilitating technology transfer and ensuring competitiveness of Switzerland on those issues, by closely collaborating directly with EPFL academic chairs on relevant topics at the intersection of technology and society, most notably cybersecurity, data privacy and protection, and trustworthy AI. Second, raising awareness of decision-makers and developing a community of interest around the topics. And third, developing advocacy/policy activities, both at Swiss and international levels, to position EPFL as an international reference center on the topics
      • The Center is a connector of ideas, people, and organizations. Your main goal is to act as the interface between academia (EPFL) and external stakeholders on current political developments in digital trust topics (AI, data, sovereignty, eID, GovTech, …) by:
      • Writing and coordinating policy papers on digital trust topics
      • Involving yourself in relevant political discussions at the cantonal, national and European levels
      • Facilitating knowledge transfer from academic research at EPFL to relevant stakeholders
      • Translating research into policy implications to inform relevant political discussions
      • Finally, as EPFL staff, working in a science-focused environment, you will be expected to develop your understanding of state-of-the-art research across the range of digital trust topics, and their implication in industry and society
      • Policy Engagement
      • Develop a policy engagement strategy
      • Lead the technology-grounded policy papers
      • Collaborate on complex reports, studies and with expert groups
      • Lead outreach activities with Swiss authorities, and European and international organizations
      • Lead and supervise the organization of policy & digital public services events
      • Participate in the organization of conferences, seminars and talks
      • Moderate events and workshops
      • Identify and develop partner contacts and use cases
      • Actively maintain interaction with and among our community
      • Develop content for various internal and external news feeds and social media

      Profile

      • PhD with 5+ years in policy / governance
      • Proven publication experience in policy / government topics
      • Knowledge of digital technologies (cybersecurity, privacy protection, transparency)
      • Mastery of English and German is mandatory. Fluency in French is a plus
