The opportunity
In our Technology Center for Surge Arresters in Wettingen, Switzerland, we develop innovative, reliable, and secure overvoltage protection solutions for power generation and distribution, railway systems, and industrial applications. We are looking for a highly motivated intern to support our team the development of next-generation Surge Arresters for GIS and AIS applications.
How you'll make an impact
Contributing to current R&D projects focusing on electrical design and testing of GIS and AIS surge arresters
Developing and proposing new surge arrester designs applying knowledge of dielectric materials and high voltage techniques
Preparing and running design calculations using FEM software
Contributing to design validation by performing development tests together with our HV lab
Evaluating and documenting findings and presenting test results to the team
Your background
Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (official enrollment is essential)
Experience in FEM simulation tools
Previous experience in high voltage engineering is a plus
Enthusiastic, self-motivated mindset and ability to work independently
Highly conscientious individual with keen sense of responsibility
Fluent command of English, both written and spoken (German language is a plus)
