The opportunity
In our Technology Center for Surge Arresters in Wettingen, Switzerland, we develop innovative, reliable, and secure overvoltage protection solutions for power generation and distribution, railway systems, and industrial applications. As an intern for at least 6 months, you will support the development of next-generation surge arresters for GIS and AIS applications. You will work in a collaborative, international team and gain hands-on experience in high-voltage engineering.
How you'll make an impact
Contributing to current R&D projects focusing on electrical design and testing of GIS and AIS surge arresters
Developing and proposing new surge arrester designs applying knowledge of dielectric materials and high voltage techniques
Preparing and running design calculations using FEM (finite element simulations) software
Contributing to design validation by performing development tests together with our High Voltage lab
Evaluating and documenting findings and presenting test results to the team
Your background
Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (official enrollment is essential)
Experience in FEM simulation tools and in high voltage engineering is a plus
Self-motivated and independent working style with a strong sense of responsibility
Fluent in English, both written and spoken; German language is a plus
