Rotating Internship positions with focus on Emergency and Critical Care
The "Universitäres Tierspital Zürich" is excited to advertise a position for "Small Animal
Rotating Internship" with the focus on Emergency and Critical Care Medicine. The start date is September 1st 2025.
The one-year program is designed to train candidates in the practice of small animal emergency and critical care medicine as well as internal medicine and surgery. The program is accredited by both the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and the FVH Switzerland and serves as a steppingstone to further specialty training
(residency).
Supervised training takes place in the small animal emergency department and intensive care unit of the "Universitäres Tierspital Zürich" under the direct supervision of
ACVECC/ECVECC/ECVS/ECVIM diplomates. The Emergency Department and Intensive Care
Unit are fully equipped to provide state of the art care for critically ill patients.
Interns participate in daily patient rounds, weekly journal and book clubs, and weekly rounds and seminars. All interns are expected to present a state-of-the-art case presentation to the ECC community during the course of their employment. Publication opportunities are encouraged and supported.

Very good communication skills and ability to work in a team are also required. A mandatory requirement is a minimum B2 level of written and spoken German
(including an official certificate).
