NCCR AntiResist, "New approaches to combat antibiotic- resistant bacteria", is recruiting a Scientific Officer (80-100%)

      About us
NCCRs (National Centres of Competence in Research) are national programmes funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation for up to 12 years, designed to achieve both scientific and societal impact.

NCCR AntiResist (2020-2032) is a Swiss-wide interdisciplinary consortium dedicated to advancing antibiotic research through close collaboration among biologists, clinicians, and engineers. Its overarching goal is to rejuvenate antibiotic discovery by developing laboratory models that closely replicate in-patient conditions and using these models to identify novel antibiotics and alternative therapeutic strategies against antibiotic- resistant bacteria. Central to this mission is the integration of basic and clinical research with bioengineering and the pharmaceutical industry.

The Biozentrum of the University of Basel is one of the world’s leading life sciences institutes and serves as the leading house of NCCR AntiResist. With 33 groups and 500 staff members from around the globe, the Biozentrum offers a dynamic and international research environment. The institute has produced numerous fundamental discoveries and several Nobel Laureates.
