About Our Client

For our client, a growing international trading company with an expanding presence in Switzerland, we are currently recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant for the office in Zug.

In this role, you will act as the local finance lead in Switzerland, taking responsibility for the company's accounting activities while working closely with the CEO and the international finance team. As the finance representative in the Zug office, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and transparency across multiple entities.

Job Description

• Responsibility for the full spectrum of financial accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Swiss OR
• Consolidation of financial data across multiple international entities
• Preparation and submission of VAT declarations and ensuring compliance with Swiss tax regulations
• Preparation of financial reports, analysis, and management reporting for the CEO and senior management
• Reconciliation and analysis of balance sheet accounts and financial data
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and liquidity planning processes
• Act as the key finance contact in the Swiss office while collaborating with international finance colleagues
• Coordinate with external stakeholders including auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
• Contribute to the development and optimization of internal accounting processes and financial controls

The Successful Applicant

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Alternatively, a completed commercial training with further education in finance (e.g. Swiss Federal Diploma in Finance and Accounting)
• Several years of relevant experience in accounting, ideally within an international environment or trading company
• Strong knowledge of Swiss accounting standards (Swiss OR) and VAT regulations
• Experience with group consolidation and multi-entity structures is an advantage
• Strong Excel and financial systems skills
• Fluent in English and very good German skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
• Structured, analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
