Zurich Insurance is currently looking to hire an experienced Senior Market Facing Underwriter for our Group Captives Team. We are looking for talented professionals and therefore there is flexibility with the position location – Schaumburg, Chicago, New York, Dallas, or Atlanta. As one of the leaders in this space, we work together with the largest captives consultants in the U.S. to deliver a wide range of services to member-owned, agency and other (fronted) captives
In this role, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities for captives
Complete detailed opportunity assessment with key distributors to identify growth opportunities
Qualify accounts to meet with the organization's appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity
Help with the daily administrative requests that come in on policy maintenance
Manage broker and captive consultant interactions
Serve as a technical resource to less tenured team members
Negotiate Terms & Conditions and close deals
Participate in Sales Team meeting as related to assigned brokers and / or territory
Measure exposure/analyze risk and pricing on new business
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area., OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area, OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area, OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area, AND
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
Experience working in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Established Underwriting/Insurance exposure
Intermediate insurance level understanding
Evidence of effective negotiation skills
Experience handling difficult conversations
Construction underwriting experience
Loss rating insurance experience
At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary rangefor this position is $98,500.00 - $165,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%
