About the job

• Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Culinary Department in Zurich, the Steward is responsible for the cleaning of dishes/kitchen equipment, removal of garbage/boxes, and any other cleaning or organizational activity that may come up including inside of coolers and kitchen area. The Steward reports to the Stewarding Supervisor and Chief Steward
• As Steward, you will be responsible for the following duties:
• Cleaning and storage of cutlery, glass, crockery and porcelain, as well as cooking utensils
• Cleaning all kitchen equipment, appliances, floors and walls
• Correct handling and use of the various cleaning agents
• Proper use, care and cleaning of all equipment used
• All waste disposal in accordance with appropriate company guidelines
• Proper storage, maintenance and handling of equipment
• Initial experience in the cleaning sector in the upscale hospitality
• A strong customer service orientation and a self-reliant way of working
• Flexibility and ability to work under pressure - your position includes weekend and holiday shifts
• Good manners and a high degree of quality awareness
• Open-mindedness, a sense of responsibility and teamwork
