Company Description
positioned in the Kingdom’s groundbreaking Red Sea Project, will provide visitors access to a nature-focused resort. With 361 rooms, eleven distinct dining concepts, including overwater restaurants with views of the Red Sea and the mangroves, and a spa. The resort will be situated next to an 18 hole championship golf course, reflecting Fairmont’s association as a world class golf destination. It will set new standards in sustainable development, positioned on 200km of untouched coastline, an archipelago of more than 90 unspoiled islands, dormant volcanoes, rich marine habitat, and ancient archaeological sites
Raffles & Fairmont The Red Sea is seeking a visionary Sustainability Champion to lead our environmental and social responsibility initiatives in Umluj, Saudi Arabia. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive sustainable practices in a world-class luxury resort destination
Develop and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies aligned with the organization's goals and industry best practices
Lead environmental impact assessments and carbon footprint calculations for the resort's operations
Design and oversee waste management, energy efficiency, and water conservation programs
Collaborate with various departments to integrate sustainable practices across all aspects of the resort
Engage with stakeholders, including guests, employees, and local communities, to promote sustainability awareness and initiatives
Manage sustainability-related projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgets
Analyze sustainability performance data and prepare reports for management and external stakeholders
Stay current with environmental regulations and sustainability trends in the hospitality industry
Train and educate staff on sustainability practices and their importance to the organization
Represent the resort in sustainability-related forums and industry events
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability or environmental management, preferably in the hospitality industry
Professional certifications in sustainability (e.g., LEED AP, WELL AP, or similar)
Extensive knowledge of sustainability management systems and best practices in the hospitality industry
Proven experience in environmental impact assessment, carbon footprint calculation, and implementing waste management, energy efficiency, and water conservation programs
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams
Excellent data analysis and reporting capabilities
In-depth understanding of environmental regulations and sustainable tourism principles
Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills
