The opportunity
Join our team as a Team Leader Production. In this highly responsible and dynamic role, you will lead a production team at MICAFIL in Zürich-Altstetten and ensure that we further strengthen our competitiveness and develop our Swiss branch to meet the global market growth, driven by the energy transition. Our local product group Insulation & Components is the technology leader in design and manufacture of high voltage transformer bushings. All renowned international companies of the electrical industry, active in power generation, transmission and distribution are among our customers. We have a top position in the high voltage bushing areas worldwide.
How you’ll make an impact
Lead the production team, including resource management and team development (20 FTEs) within a 3-shift operation model
Analyze and implement efficient production and business processes to increase safety, quality and productivity
Identify and integrate new technologies and best practices to drive the continuous improvement process (CIP) together with our Process Engineering team
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Reduce scrap levels to the minimum possible
Ensure continuous and high production output in close coordination with factory planners
Be responsible for optimal work and maintenance instructions and other relevant regulations (e.g. ISO, Lean, Six Sigma)
Close collaboration with planning, quality assurance, logistics, other production departments and relevant stakeholders for holistic process design and improvement
Develop and monitor the most important key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and report to operations manager
As People Manager, you will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and in-ternal regulations, procedures and guidelines
Your background
Technical apprenticeship and further qualifications (HF / FH) in the field of technology, leadership or a comparable field
Several years of experience in a similar leadership position and within a manufacturing environment
Solid knowledge of lean management, Six Sigma and other process optimization methods
Proven experience in leading and motivating cross-functional teams
Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision making
Excellent time management, communication and organizational skills coupled with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Fluent in German, English is an advantage
