We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated translational scientist to join a collaborative research project at the University of Zurich. The project is jointly led by Prof. Christoph Messner at the Precision Proteomics Center in Davos and Prof. Dr. med. Thorsten Zenz at the Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology, Universtity hospital Zurich. The position will be based at the Precision Proteomics Center in Davos (SIAF, Medicine Campus Davos).
The successful candidate will join the 2027 Excellence Program of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Zurich (CCCZ) as a translational fellow working on the PRO-LYMPH project: Functional Proteomic Profiling of Drug Responses in Lymphoma for Precision Oncology.
Role and Responsibilities
Conduct translational research at the interface of oncology and proteomics
Work with primary patient samples.
Run mass spectrometric measurements
Apply statistical methods and machine-learning approaches to identify response mechanisms, biomarkers, and patient subgroups.
Your Profile
PhD and relevant research experience
Experience in several of the following areas:
o Mass spectrometry
o Proteomics
o Statistics and machine learning
o Programming in R and/or Python
o Cell culture work
Independent, structured, and reliable working style, with a collaborative mindset
Strong communication skills, with the ability to align with stakeholders and manage time and projects effectively
Interest in translational science and technology transfer
Entrepreneur mindset is a plus
