Zurich Canada is looking for an experienced actuary to join as VP & Actuarial Director, leading the Large Account & ARS Pricing team
Reporting to the Chief Pricing Actuary, you will lead the Large Account & ARS Pricing team that provides actuarial support for individually priced accounts, programs and MGAs. You will be an influential leader that provides actuarial insights to senior leadership in market-facing underwriting as well as technical underwriting and will help drive the performance of the commercial business at Zurich

Zurich follows a hybrid work model requiring three days per week of in-person presence, which may include time in the office or market-facing engagements
Lead pricing for large National Accounts, Programs, MGAs, ART/Captives. Support business growth and onboarding of new portfolios. , • Develop pricing models, reflecting complex structures of accounts, high deductibles/SIRs, aggregates. Improve model templates based on technical considerations and priorities for the business. , • Manage profit margins on new and renewal business and lead analyses related to tracking and improving portfolio performance., • Support discussions with brokers and clients through strategic actuarial insights. Collaborate with market-facing underwriting to deliver creative solutions to our clients. , • Lead a team of experienced actuaries. Build a brilliant team by clarifying objectives, coaching and motivating. , • Actively recruit top-talent and work to raise Zurich’s profile in the insurance industry. Act as an ambassador for the company at industry events and improve the actuarial talent pipeline for Zurich as a whole. , • Strategic management of the programs and accounts pipeline to deliver the highest value for the business. , • Lead the design, testing and maintenance of pricing models and tools., • Research and implement advanced modeling techniques such as Monte Carlo simulations. Build templates and techniques to improve the sophistication and accuracy of modeling.,
Job Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus FCAS or equivalent international certification
Bachelors Degree and 15 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area plus ACAS or equivalent international certification
People management skills
People management experience, • Experience in multiple functional areas (pricing, reserving, capital management) and knowledge/skills reflective of a senior practitioner, • Strong verbal and written communication skills
